Hi All, I am the mom of a fifteen year old who as suffered with gastroparesis his whole life. He has not had GI studies since he was two years old -- and, while he has not been horribly ill in these intervening years, he is painfully thin and eats extremely poorly. Should I have him re-evaluated? I am afraid that he will not be able to make the leap to independence in a few years due to his extreme desire to avoid eating, resulting from the pain and nausea it causes him. We live in the San Franscisco Bay Area. Are there any doctors anyone would recommend here -- either at Stanford or UCSF -- who would take us seriously, even though my son is not extremely ill? We would travel to a greater distance if there was a specialist further away who could help! Thanks for any advice you might offer us!
