I do not have Gastroparesis , my wife does. She had injury to her brain when she was a newborn and the doctors believe that's what caused it in her case. We knew something was wrong with her when I first met her, but she didn't know what it was and it stumped us for many years. The Doctors said it was all in her head and suggested a Psychiatrist and some medication for depression. We knew that wasn't what was making her vomit and unable to keep down food but every Doctor we went to see said the same thing. They did a gastric emptying a few times but they said the radioactive food wouldn't stay down so they called it a failed test. Test after test after test, until we moved to Las Vegas and saw a Doctor there. They diagnosed her on the spot after one gastric emptying and knew exactly what it was. Now I run a Website for my wife about the disorder to inform other people suffering from Gastroparesis so that they know what's going on with their body. I honestly think Doctors should know this stuff, that's what they get paid for right? Managing it has been rough, but knowing what it is was half the battle. Not knowing what it was caused a great deal of stress and anxiety. We didn't know if whatever she had was fatal, or what it was.
