I know there is very little activity, and i have read your story Penny i hope your still about as i can relate to a lot of your problems.
Ok my story.
I was working 12 hour night shifts in 1997 / 1998 slowly over a period of time a found myself getting weaker every day that went by, i was a plastics machine operative and engineer, over time my work was slowing and the company sent me of to the Dr's to try and get to the reason for the fatigue and exhaustion.
Eventually the point came where the company said sorry Dave we have to let you go, your obviously not well.
It was a massive blow, at that time in 98 there was my partner and first daughter to support, i was lost as what to do, from leaving my job i was put through loads of tests to find the reason for the symptoms i was suffering.
After what seemed like months i was diagnosed with (ME) CFS, i had no idea what this was, the DR explained it to me and it started to make sense, some years passed with yet more invasive tests on me to try and pin down the cause and a possible cure, oh before i forget Ive always suffered with gastritis since my teenage years, 13 onwards i think, but medication kept this under control so i could live and function with it.
So know 14 years later after tests as invasive as a wire passed through my femoral artery up in to my heart for testing, scary stuff i can say that, Ive had my fare share of endoscopies / gastroscopies , colonoscopies , forgive my spelling if Ive got some mistakes, years passed being on medication for pain, sleep, stomach problems, depression, the symptoms are to many to list, all are very unpleasant and make life at times unbearable.
Years went by, then i became diabetic thats when the stomach problems and digestion became severe, today i have to use more than 12 different medications to offset the list of chronic disorders with digestion and just daily living which at times boarders unbearable.
I have lost 4 stone very fast, i have mineral and vitamin deficiency now due to such a restricted diet. I also suffer all the nausea vomiting, stomach pain very nasty unbearable at times, trips to A and E i think you call it the ER, the sudden weight loss was a shock as i am 6' 2" tall and a big frame, the weight loss has steadied out now and is still going on but at a slower rate, the ongoing gastric problems are gradually getting worse, limits on foods drinks etc.
So to date i live life as a virtual recluse rarely leaving the house as i feel just to ill, i don't know what the future has in store for me, but its looking bleak even if i try and stay positive, at the moment cardiac problems are becoming very troublesome and i take medication for this to, i am a fighter but i fear this will lead to my demise as my heart deteriorates in its function, or complications from some infection etc.
Looking on the bright side i still have my partner Tina and my three children, Holly , Josie , and my youngest my Son Derren, they keep my spirits up, with out them i would have thrown in the towel long ago.
If anyone is still about on the forum i will reply, my PC time is odd due to insomnia and constant stomach pain, so my times on and off the forum might look odd as in the night if i was logged in, i am hoping for some others to come forward old and new alike.
I am drained having concentrated for so long, well long for me, so thats it really my story.
Anyone passing with problems please look in.
Bye for now.
Dave.
