While 'twittering' my little heart out I discovered some exciting news!!!
There is a GP patient out there who is going to school to become a Nutritionist!!!!
Talk about exciting news!
Most nutritionists have no clue how to handle a patient with Gastroparesis and their advice can do more harm than good (yet another sign that there needs to be more awareness in the health care industry about Gastroparesis) such as telling GP patients to eat high fiber foods, fresh fruits and veggies... I even had one tell me to drink salt water before every meal to help aid digestion!
I will be adding a link soon (as soon as she makes her website) so that we can watch her progress and cheer her on!

Lizsan,
I am sorry that you are going through all of this.
The weight loss could be from many factors, it could be that the pacer is helping with the bloating and that is bloat weight you have lost or it could be that it is all a result of the stress and proceedure of having the temporary pacer implanted.
This is probably the cruelest thing about Gastroparesis... that there is no set way that the condition acts, everyone experiences it differently so it is not uncommon for someone to be confused because their body is not reacting as they were led to believe it would.
My suggestion would be to discuss it with your Dr and until then to take care to make sure that you are staying hydrated properly (water weight loss can be dramatic and disturbing at times) and try to keep a complete diary of your symptoms. Every little thing that happens could give an answer, even if you think it is trivial.
Good luck and I hope that the pacemaker works for you.

I am looking for a dietician who has knowledge about GP. I live near DC but would do phone or Skype. Anyone find one they like?
